D365 Project Operations "Customize Task Pane" feature

Share

Being able to customize project tasks in D365POPS is a common ask on projects.

With the latest update, a new feature "Customize Task Pane" is available.

Using this feature, we can customize tasks of a project within the Task Pane itself.

This allows users to view and update (where allowed) all relevant task information directly from the task pane, improving efficiency while still keeping the option to access the original standard view if needed.

This feature can be considered along with the "add support for Lookups on custom columns" which will allow to add Lookup data type fields as enterprise task custom columns within the task grid when available.

Of course, the Project app user roles should be updated to reflect the access required to the data part of the new pane.
